Jolian believes that if you can afford to buy the very best of some item, you should spend the extra money and buy it. Luckily for our bank account, he currently applies this belief mainly to soap, hence why it’s called his soap theory. The man really appreciates a good bar of fancy soap. Every time he goes to Freeman’s for a haircut, he comes home with new $10, pine scented, organic, handmade by monks in Spain (not really, but you get the point) bar of soap. It may seem indulgent to some, but for the same price as 2 lattes Jolian gets to enjoy his expensive woodsy soap every morning. A couple years ago, I decided to pick out my own luxury item and started using Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo and Conditioner. Seriously, no shampoo smells better. It might sound crazy, but I swear it puts me in a better mood by starting out each day feeling a little pampered. If you applied this to all your toiletries, it could really add up, but I recommend picking out an item or two that you care about, splurge on the very best, and see how it lifts your spirits. As Aziz would tell ya, treat yo self!
