Leather Desk Cord Organizer

We recently moved our desk into our bedroom so we could turn the old office into the baby’s room. I decided to take advantage of this move to get everything organized and find a solution to a problem that has been driving me nuts forever – cords that won’t stay on my desk. Like everyone, I have various cords for my computer, iphone, speakers, etc. and every time I unplug the device the damn cord falls back behind the desk forcing me to get on my hands and knees to find it. Do you have this problem too? If you do, I have good news. I’ve made a super simple leather desk cord organizer that will keep you from ever having to crawl under there again. All you need is $5 and 5 minutes. Here’s how I did it:

Look at those cords about to slip off the back of the desk. Just getting them to stay in place to take this picture was a struggle.

Luckily, to fix this problem, all you need is an old belt and some scissors. I bought this belt at a local thrift store for $5.

Using your sharpest pair of scissors – I found my kitchen scissors worked best – cut off the belt on either side of the holes.

Now on one side, cut a slit from the edge of the belt to each hole so that you can slide your cords into the holes.

Your leather desk cord organizer is done. So simple, right? Those cords aren’t going anywhere!
