We made it to Hong Kong! Only a quick and easy 16 hour flight. Before we left, my sister and I were debating whether the plane would go east or west. Kari, we were both wrong – the plane went north. Can you believe that? That’s when you know you’re on the other side of the world, when the plane takes a polar route!
We arrived Wednesday evening and have had one full day in Hong Kong so far (I am typing this in the middle of our second night – the other reason I know I am on the other side of the world. Damn you, jet lag!). The weather has been rainy, the hotel (really more of a hostel) is nothing to write home about, but nevertheless, I am in love with this city. It’s absolutely beautiful with its modern skyline, stunning green mountains, and parks throughout the city. And it’s all so clean. The water is a gorgeous shade of green filled with boats and ferries to take you all over the island. We took 4 different boat rides yesterday alone. Jolian is in heaven. I have some more posts coming up to show the places we’ve seen so far, so stay tuned.
