Time to Start Canning

For a while now I have wanted to give canning a try, but haven’t gotten around to it. I have a lot of reasons why I should: my husband bought me the sweetest Old-Time Pickling and Spicing Recipes cookbook years ago, I’m constantly making jam or relish, I’m obsessed with pickles, and what about all those garlic scapes that if pickled would’ve made the perfect bloody mary accompaniment?! Time’s a wastin’!

I didn’t have the right equipment and foolishly thought they would cost a lot of money to buy. I was pleased to find out I was totally wrong!  I saw this retro canning set on Terrain for only $20, and it’s cute to boot! No more excuses…
