While sprucing up our apartment for the home tour a few weeks ago, I realized I needed a new wreath for the front door. It was time to stop pretending my beloved faux moss wreath could be multi-seasonal and put it away with the rest of my Christmas decorations. For a replacement I had my eye on the grand lavender swag and the lavender field wreath but decided to be budget conscious and make my own. I remembered seeing Martha Stewart make a spring grapevine wreath on her show and it seemed simple enough. All I needed was the wreath, moss, a few vintage figurines, and a hot glue gun. Voila! It’s truly amazing what is possible with a hot glue gun. The whole thing took about 5 minutes.
Jolian thinks it’s silly, and I kind of agree, but sometimes silly can be good. It needs a couple of mushrooms or other embellishments, but I think it’s charming in a whimsical way. I didn’t end up hanging it during the tour for fear that silly wasn’t that crowd’s cup of tea. It’s up now and has definitely grown on me. I’ve become quite fond of those little deer that greet me everyday as I come home from work.
